YVPE and Yakima Valley Libraries Reading Challenge!
YVPE and Yakima Valley Libraries are launching a reading challenge beginning this week to encourage reading among students and families. This challenge is currently only available in Granger, Mabton, and Sunnyside. The first 40 students who register per library site will receive a Lego Harry Potter Advent Calendar, students will then quality for one grand prize at each site (Lego Classic, Lego Avatar or Lego Nezah’s Fire Ring). Readers will receive smaller Lego sets or books as they proceed through the reading challenge. My team is delivering all Lego sets to the 3 library locations today for direct access through your local library.

Claim your prizes.
Sully (cc’d) from YVL will provide you with use reports as the reading challenge ends 60 days from now or sooner if prizes are exhausted. She and her team will be dropping off flyers to your district directly (Granger 12/4 and Mabton 12/5).
After this initial reading challenge is over, YVPE will be publishing a free reading guide for adults to support young readers that cover the 5 fundamental techniques and skills of reading as an interlude before the next reading challenge is launched by summer.
